yes, water forces you to use more muscle because it is more dense, but amazingly working your midsection and legs are the most efficient ways of increasing your jump. Jumping is just the transfer of motion from your legs to your upper body. So, the more muscle and less flab(fat) you have in your legs and midsection(abs, obliques, etc.) the better the motion will transfer from your legs to your upper body, therefore increasing your vertical jump. Crunches, leg lifts, small hops off the balls of your feet, and just jumping as high as you can will tone your body for jumping.

What i did multiplied my vertical from approximately four or five inches to twenty inches in approximately five months however another time my vertical used to suck. What i did is do 25 calf increases(repeatedly extra repeatedly much less, relying on while it begins to burn and while i cant do extra) take a 30 moment holiday till it stops hurting and while i am able to move once more, then do this three extra occasions. So essentially your doing all your max calf increases until it hurts and do four units of this with a 30 moment holiday in among every set. I then did four units of 25 calf increases on every leg. Then what i might do is squats, approximately 10 and do five units of the ones with a 30 moment holiday. Then i might do squat jumps as soon as i received my quads hot, traditionally i might do squat jumps until i cannot do them explosively or till it harm, i might do three units of the ones. Try to do those earlier than you fall asleep, approximately an hour earlier than you sleep is well;does not rather subject however i consider that will get the nice outcome. I'm a five'five thirteen 12 months ancient with approximately a 20 inch vertical, touching the again board. Now appears like you may have received a exceptional vertical already, but it surely would nonetheless get even bigger. Try to relaxation approximately three days every week for instance monday-exersize,Tuesday relaxation,Wednesday undertaking, Thursday relaxation... Im no longer an knowledgeable in this however that is what labored for me. Don't ever undertaking with out stretching. Good Luck.

I think the US Olympic Men's Volleyball Team used to do this type of training... It's like resistance training, and since it's in the water there isn't as much stress on the body. From what I remember they were squatting at the bottom of the deep end of a pool, then jumping as high as they could out of the water.
