Actually very underpaid at $875,000. Considering that he's 12-5, with an ERA of 3.11, a whip of 1.03, a Batting Average against of .230, and 160 K's as compared to 32 BB.
Conversely, Randy Johnson of the Yankees is making a whopping $15,661,447. For his 11-9 mark with a whopping 5.07 ERA etc..
But that's baseball. Players are within the control of the first team they play for, fo seven years. They get arbitration after a certain amount of time, but the big bucks don't come until they're free agents. This is necessary though. It's the only way teams like the Twins can compete with the likes of the Yankees.
Added Later: It was a typo guys. Cut me some slack. I provided the links.

This year, Santana is making $8,750,000 while teammate Joe Mauer and Francisco Liriano is making $400,000 and $327,000 respectively (I'm not kidding about their salaries). The highest paid Twin is Torii Hunter at $10,750,000 and the team payroll is $63,396,006 (not including any transaction after Opening Day).

E-pax appears to have it correct. So, the right answer to your question could be "not nearly enough"!
Santana could very easily get into the $15-20 mil a year salary range.

he makes 8,750,000 not 875,000...thats a pretty big difference, but I agree he is still a bargain considering Chan Ho Park makes 15,333,000
