I'm trying to switch between chords when playing a song but it also echos weird notes because when I lift my fingers from the strings the sound is still playing.

Try muting the strings with the side of your picking hand. You may just have to keep practicing, but there are different positions you can play your chords in to where some are easier to reach, but you will have to practice regardless or you will be limited as a guitarist.

I know it's been said before so many times, but practice, practice, PRACTICE! You'll get it eventually...
