According a philosopher I once read, there is exactly 30 years between young and old. With the observer (you) exactly in the middle.
As far as an official age, I don't know of any. 55 is the point where I started calling myself a senior citizen but at 58 I consider early 40's young and early 70's old. I guess the old philosopher was right. I do know "old" is getting older all the time. I heard a comment on the radio the other day that 60 is the new 40. So you will have to work this one out for yourself. Good luck.

this is predicated on the type you experience, your wellness, and the age you're at now. some all and sundry is previous at 50, some are nonetheless youthful at 70. I even have an aunt who i might have seen previous around 60 or so, yet her 75 twelve months previous neighbor is approximately to get married to a girl 20 years his junior and is in a position to maintain up basically high quality. My mothers and fathers very own an assisted residing facility, and the citizens variety in age from seventy 4 to ninety 9. between the oldest appearing ones is the seventy 4 twelve months previous, yet i might wager guy or woman who's eighty 4, or yet another who's ninety to be the youngest. Even the ninety 9 twelve months previous gets around rather plenty and is as sharp as a tack.

I knew there would be a wide range of ages based on the age of the person answering this question. I don't think you are "officially old" until you decide. I use to think that 30 was old; well, it was alright. Now more years have passed and 30 is young. Age is a state of mind, and we remain young. I don't intend to become old until my 90's, maybe.

Depends on your perception of old. When I was 10, anyone over 18 seemed old. At 18, 30 was over the hill. At 30, 50 y.o. had one foot in the grave.
Some 70 year olds act young, I think it is an individual thing.

These days, I think 70 might be considered old, but that's still hard to say cuz there are so many older rockers out there who are in their 60's but they keep on rockin'!

you're only as old as you act............I'm 38 i look 25 and act 2. today's 60 is not what it was. people are more vibrant and younger acting than ever..............i mean come on tina turner, dolly parton, cher, bette midler, george clooney, lynda carter, elvira, would all have been considered old 15 years ago today they're in their prime.................age is JUST a number, it means nothing you're only old if you think you are.
