Stayed there a few years ago and didn't really care for it. It is down by Stratosphere so it's a good distance from the "miracle mile" and the big casinos. It has a pretty nice, cheap buffet and the slots are pretty good. The pool is very nice. It's just an older hotel and not as fancy as Bellagio or Wynn. If you are trying to go cheap, go ahead and stay there because it's not that bad.

The Sahara is old and is further down the strip. If your going to experience Vegas, you really arent going to be doing much in your room accept sleeping and showering. Personally not one of my favorites. I lived in Vegas and not my first choice of places to stay. Its old and musty in my opinion.
If you are going to go clubbing out there, the Beach is right behind the Sahara and a locals spot. I always enjoyed it.
Just be ready to do a lot of walking to see the rest of the strip. There is a lot of contruction between the Sahara and the main part of the strip and its dark and poorly lit at night, and not in the best section of Las Vegas Blvd, so take cabs at night. Take good shoes. Vegas is dry heat, so make sure you stay hydrated. Drink more water than anything and less soda. Take a really good lotion. Your skin will dry up the second you step off of the plane. Apply it both morning and night and any time you shower.

I stayed there last year. It's decent, but not fancy. The buffet was below average, but I didn't eat at the other restaurants. Someone else mentioned the monorail (and got her facts wrong), which is one advantage of the Sahara. The monorail station is right there and will take you all the way down the Strip. It's $5 for 1 ride, $9 for 2 shareable rides, $35 for 10 shareable rides, $15 for 24-hr unlimited nonshareable rides[see http://lvmonorail.com for route, etc.] The Sahara also has a roller coaster going through it.

That's where we stayed when we got married. It's actually one of the oldest hotels in Vegas. It's on the far end of the strip (away from the airport) but it's still located on the strip. On one side you have Circus Circus, one another The Straosphere and the Hilton right across the street. There's a monorail across the street to go up and down the strip (you can ride all day for $5.00 I believe) and they have a WONDERFUL coffe bar (better than Starbucks). It's not the Bellagio BUT it's not a rat infested, spider-ridden hotel either. It's nice. I think you'll like it.

Is a so-so hotel but acceptable. The best of the hotel is that is located at all the nearby casinos, very convenient.

I've never heard of or seen this hotel. So, chances are it's going to be out of the way and probably not that great.

Go to lasvegas.com - you can review hotels and prices there. Book online at the hotel's web site for the best deal, and book your flight separate.
