whats up I performed clarinet too...an prolonged time in the past. Been playing trumpet for 3 years(marching/stay overall performance/jazz), and horn for 2 yrs. artwork on long tones w/ a tuner, and the extra you prepare your tone will become extra clever. Audition for regionals or something- whats up it helped me advance as a musician. Take choir- is going hand in hand w/ any song classification and facilitates you develop besides..cuz brass is complicated. Buzz on the mouthpiece, prepare your ears...what else...steadily advance your variety, steadily. you do no longer decide for busted chops for all time. once you're playing third, be LOUD yet with a good sound. Memorize accidentals properly so as which you will have no subject with that. Oh and for valve oil, BLUE JUICE

Get a good stage tag such as "Bleeding Gums" "Lips" "Toots"
Remember when you are older you will end up playing jazz, wearing a balck shirt braces & a straw boater hat at outdoor events, to crowds of open toed sandle & sock wearing OAPS.

Don't blow your own? LOL

Practise, practise, practise. Do plenty of exercises. I used to hate to practise and it showed. Do them lip warm up exercises with the mouthpiece only (blowing raspberries into them). And most of all, enjoy!
