I employed a guy in my Liquor store 2 weeks ago.
I gave him 8 shifts of 4 hours at $18.75 per hour. He only turned up for 4 shifts after calling in with explanations like>>> I can't work tonight because it's my GrandMa's birthday, I have football training, I feel too ill to work, My Dad needs me to help him with his business!
Is this kid for real???????
He's 21 YO for God's sake!

It'll be better if he quits- just cut back his shifts to once a week and decrease his salary to minimum wage. Hire somebody else.

This too funny for words, but a couple of years ago it could have been me. I went to computer class to learn before I purchased and the first thing I was taught was the plug into the wall , then second is it turned on and third was check for power!!!! C-prompt was a sign that I lost the program and upon occasion I lost it!!! It makes you feel so smart. Try buying the computer professor 80.00 a whack thats what he could have used!!!!

guys it's $18.75 AUSTRALIAN dollars per hour... yea go work for him you fools lol

I would fire that guy, he's not a good employee

the only way I wouldn't fire him immediately is if you absolutely need him to cover a certain shift soon that no one else can cover.

Then he isn't a kid

But have a proper talk with him and ask him these questions yourself before you decide to fire him or not

Give him an official warning, ask about external things that may influence future shifts (football etc) then if he carries on being a jackass, fire his lameass

Talk to him first. Everyone deserves a warning. Just say hey, next time, unless someone is dead or dying, your fired.

He's lazy. He don't wana work
Talk to him and ask him to put himself in your shoes. Give a verbal warning. If this happens again, out he goes.

He probably is a real person.
And you've only got yourself to blame if you've started employing figments of your own imagination.

I would give him another chance. If he does it again... YOUR FIRED! will be my last message to him. Tell him that you give him this last chance and if he doesn't do it right again, the rest you know.

He sounds immature and irresponsible. Fire him.

You can send me free samples of your inventory if you like.
