The worst thing I have ever experienced in my life was manic depression and being bipolar. Imagine having no control over the incredible lows and occassional highs that take over your life. Every day is an indurance test, every day suicidal thoughts go through your head and you aren't really sure why.

I was on my motorcycle at the age of 16. A 17 year old, from Massachusetts, using his Mommy's car had just picked up his girlfriend in New Hampshire. He was speeding and probably getting a ******** from his girlfriend when he was on a 30 mile an hour side street in the middle of the city, going 65 or 70, ran the stop sign, and hit me head on 3 blocks from my house. After hitting me, he continued up the sidewalk and ran over 3 kids under the age of 6. I was hospitized for 24 weeks, in a body cast for almost a year, needed plastic surgery on my face and arms over the next 6 years, and today still suffer from broken bones. I was lucky, I got $10,000 and all expenses paid. The other 3 little kids lost their lives.

Too many things.

I saw the Lockerbie bomb go off on the plane. I was safe, miles away. It was just a puff of orange light behind a cloud. I remember thinking, "that was very odd".
I was so shocked to see what had happened, on the news, when I got home. I witnessed such tragic loss and didn't even know what it was.

We live in terrible times now, watching the news is a daily tragedy.

Personal stuff, stays with me though.

The worst thing i have ever seen was only a few weeks ago. My son was dancing round the living room whilst i was hoovering, He had somehow got hold of a pair of scissors while my back was turned. I heard a scream and turned round to see the scissors sticking out of his face. They had gone in over an inch. That sight will haunt me forever. after being taken to hospital, he was discharged with no more than 2 butterfly stitches as is fine, thank god.

There was a train derailment and I guy I knew from high school was found under some of the wreckage. It was obvious that he wasn't killed instantly... there were hand prints in the dirt around him from where he was attempting to free himself. We all thought he might have had a chance if we'd found him sooner.

Seen - too many to count. A guy on a bike crashing and his head flying off, watching the twin towers happening live on TV, witnessing my ex (thank god) nearly thrashing my dog to death,...
Experienced - rape

Hating myself. If I hate myself, how can I possibly love another or feel loved? Love is the very thing I now enjoy feeling most.
