well, possibly he was trying to extract some kinda reaction fm u. he probably wants see if there's any answer fm u that wil convinced himself that there's still hope for him and u. Dont take it too personal. Afterall there is no crime loving someone and not be loved in return right? Take it as a compliment n do remain friend with him, as long as he is not takin advantage of you. if he is really genuinely caring toward u, accept it. U never know, he may just be that one and only real friend you'll ever have.

Very simple. He doesn't want to loose on U, gives more imp. than anything else to U. Seems a nice guy. Until U change your mind, keep company of such friends. Try all that U can to help & support him achieve his wishes, if U think he's your friend at least, even nothing more than that.

Sounds like he wants to stay near you. You might want to break off the friendship so that he can get over the illusion of you two getting back together. Either that or he just wanted to see your reaction.
