Brady Quinn. Because Brady's football ability is helped by the fact that in addition to his athleticism, he is quite strong. He can bench press 350 pounds (160 kg), squat 475 pounds (215 kg) and also holds a Black Belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Brady is described as a quiet, gentlemanly individual who would ultimately like to be an attorney.

He is currently one of three team captains, and is on track to break nearly every Notre Dame career passing record. In his career, he has broken the Notre Dame all-time and single season team records for attempts, completions, yards, and touchdowns.

Although he was not invited to the Heisman Trophy ceremony in New York City, Quinn finished fourth in the voting for the prestigious honor, receiving seven first-place votes. He finished behind Reggie Bush (winner), Vince Young (2nd), and Matt Leinart (3rd). As he will be the only player out of the top 10 vote getters that will be returning for the 2006 NCAA season, Quinn is the de facto front-runner for the 2006 Heisman trophy.

A player who is fairly well known right now and happens to have a great year. Even though I think Anthony Morelli, QB for Penn State will be the best player this season, because he is a dropback passer taking over a team that would have been undefeated last season were it not for 1 second that was added onto the clock in the Michigan game, I don't think he can win the Heisman because Matt Leinart was the best player each of the last 3 years and won it just once and Reggie Bush was not seriously considered 2 years ago when he first really hit the spotlight.

Possible QBs that could win the Heisman are Croyle, Henne, and Leak. All 3 are fairly well known at this point. At RB, I think Adrian Peterson of Oklahoma has to be a frontrunner. The Heisman will likely be a QB or RB.

Troy Smith...he's matured a lot over the past season. Troy Smith is the only good dual-threat QB left in NCAAF. in the beginning of last season, Coach Tressel wasnt sure whether to put Troy Smith or Justin Zwick at starting position, but now, theres no doubt in his mind that Troy Smith is the starter.

If Troy Smith doesnt get it, then Ted Ginn Jr. will. the only reason he had a decent season last year was because of Santonio Holmes. Santonio Holmes was the leading Buckeye receiver but now with him gone, Ted Ginn Jr will dominate.

I also think, that with Antonio Pittman in the backfield, the Buckeyes will have a good offensive balance in the rush and in the pass. Antonio Pittman has also gotten much better but I dont think he will be a Heisman finalist.

My top Heisman Candidates (in order):
1. Troy Smith (QB, Ohio State)
2. Brady Quinn (QB, Notre Dame)
3. Adrian Peterson (RB, Oklahoma)
4. Brian Brohm (QB, Louisville)
5. Ted Ginn Jr. (WR, Ohio State)
6. Chris Leak (QB, Florida)
7. Michael Bush (RB, Louisville)

I say he will be either the unner up or third place to Darren McFadden. Barring a baised voting poll ( See Troy Smith last year) McFadden is the focal point of that Arkansas offense, especially sine they dont have a great QB. Hart will have a great year this year and help Michigan regain ground in the BCS and go to a bowl game and solidify himself as one of the best backs entering the 2008 draft. To all these people who think Michigan sucks because of the loss, im an USC fan so im not biased but remember this, Appalachian State is the 2 time D-1AA national champions and are good enough to qualify for D-1A. It also shows that overlooking an "underdog" can result in a loss if not prepared. Michigan is a much better team than that and will rebound and be respectful.

Ted Ginn Jr.
He is the most ridiculously gifted athlete in the country. This year the Buckeyes will feature him in the offense. Chris Wells in the backfield will make teams have to respect the run, meaning safeties will have to play closer to the line. Once Ginn gets a step, he's gone. Hopefully his hands will be better.

The only worry I have is that the national media will be all over Brady Quinn's jock all season. He'll throw for 5 touchdowns against Navy and they will annoint him the second coming. Just remember last year's Fiesta Bowl. Against a quality defense, he is highly average.

Adrian Peterson... I think as Oklahoma's passing attack continues to grow, Peterson will have another year like he did his freshman year. He'll need the passing game to be effective so that teams will have to play the pass instead of stacking up on the run with 8 guys at the line of scrimmage. I predict 1,800
yards and 24 TD's out of Peterson this year.

Here are some other canidates I think may make a Heisman run:
Brady Quinn (I predict 3,800 yards passing and 35 TD's)
Brian Brohm ( I predict 3,100 yards passing and 29 TD'S)
Ted Ginn ( I predict 1,600 all-purpose yards and 14 total TD's)
Marshawn Lynch ( I predict 1,400 rushing yards and 13 TD's)
Michael Bush ( I predict 1,800 all-purpose yards and 28 total TD's)
Chris Leak ( I predict 2,700 yards passing and 25 TD's)
Drew Weatherford ( I predict 2,900 yards passing and 25 TD's)

Chris Leak of the Gators. His first 3 seasons at UF, he had 3 different offensive coordinators. Everyone criticizes him for not being able to fit in the offense, but he is a talent. Now that he's finally back under the same system, I'm looking for him to put up big numbers and silence the critics in a big, big way.
