I was told to go into a dark room facing the mirror, turn around 3 times, stop and put my face directly in front of the mirror and with my eyes open say "bloody mary, bloody mary, bloody mary" and her image is supposed to materialize. Well I tried this several times and if there is a little amount of light but not too much, then you will see a scary face starring back at you. The bad news is that it is always your own. I did it one particular time when I was about 15 and I have to admit that it looked like a pale white bony face with black eyes and stringy thin hair. What really freaked me out man is that while I was standing there only an inch or 2 from the mirror and breathing rather heavily at this point, my breath must have bounced off of the mirror and it felt like the figure breathed in my face. When I backed away from the mirror to turn on the light I guess my facial expression changed and it looked just like the thing smiled at me! Well after turning on the light it was just my own ugly mug. Anyways to anwer your question, yes you CAN see a distorted vision of your own reflection, but no you will not see her. You know that face I saw did kind of resemble Marilyn Manson though...LOL!

Blood Mary is what people used to call Mary Tudor, Queen of England back in the 1400s. She was a Catholic who persecuted a lot of Protestants during her short reign. (she ruled after Henry 8, her half brother Edward, and before her half-sister Elizabeth). The people in England and around Europe called her Bloody Mary cause her rule was bloody. I doubt some old English Queen hides out in mirrors waiting to hurt teenagers.

and if it works... what? Ooh the suspense! What?! Did you want to know if chanting 'bloody Mary' works? Or if it has worked for anyone? Oooh! Tell me! The suspense is murder!

*grin*

No. Never tried. So I wouldn't know if it works.

It worked. She was standing their in the mirror, eyes blood shot red, very pale, staring with a lifeless yet fanatical glare in her eyes. I could tell she was once beautiful but her limp hair and cracked skin hid it. Their was only one thing that had any color in her...her red red bloody lips. hmmmm...i'm scaring myself now....gonna stop.

I did it once when i was young with two friends. either she really appeared in the mirror, or it was just another spirit trying to mess with us, but there was a bloody woman in the mirror for a few seconds. it was freaky.

Yeah, and I'm still here. You should bring a full length mirror to a gravesite and try it. That'll be more interesting.
