I have thought about this myself. I'm not sure how you are wanting it to look, but I saw the most gorgeous toilet & sink in a mexican resturant. I have the talent to paint it and all, but I read that you have to fire the object in a kiln for it to actually be useable otherwise the paint would eventually wear off.. I don't have anyway to do that. I would think bathtub would almost be impossible to do because of the size. On the other hand you can order these pieces already painted they are like $1,000.00 for a tub or toilet, and $400.00 to $600.00 for a sink, how do they fire them? Anyway it is possible I guess just need the right paint and a big honkin kiln!!!!!!!!!!!

Best bet is to hire a pro and do this right- its not as simple as brushing on some paint- the tub needs an Acid cleaning and etch. Also it will look like crap if it is not sprayed on. An Air brush is the tool of choice.

the companies that make large appliances know how to spray paint them, give them a call. I remember someone once saying that that spray can cause cancer. Why not sell it in a yard sale, or give it to the salvation army, and start all over and buy yourself what you like.

I think that's a big NO NO, you are not suppose to paint bath tubs. You can either change it or get some advice from an expert.

Don't paint it, it will be hard to clean and chip easily. If you are a little artistically inclined, try tiling it. make a mosaic with broken tiles (you can pick them up cheaper at a DYI store). It will last longer, and look really cool.

Get 2 -3 kids and arm them with filled super soakers. If each has a different color you should be in for a real treat.

Use waterproof paints of bright colors and little dark colors that will blend together in harmony.
