Eating well, getting rest, and living a clean life -- always a good idea for any sports.

If you are just starting out, it may be natural to feel sore just as people who first start running or practicing for a team sport often feel some stiffness or soreness.

Usually, this is normal but you need to be careful not to over-exercise. Most beginners start out too fast so it is better to do a little 3 or 4 days a week (for example) than to go wild one or two days a week--to start out slowly and add more weight gradually.

So take it easy. Many athletes use the whirl pool, swim, or have other methods which work for their sport. Ask your friends or coaches and/or trainers for advice and don't worry about a little pain if it doesn't go on for too long.

Of course, if it gets severe, you need to see a doctor or whatever type of health care specialist you use.

Massage is really good for delayed onset muscle soreness due to built up metabolites.
