Is this true? these guys were tellin me they saw it on MythBusters and no gun can shoot thru 3 feet of water... not even a 50 cal. They said the shells hit with such momentum that they basically obliterated. Anyone see that?

yea i was thinkin that lower calibers would go deeper... i know a bb gun would lol... but they dont really count as guns (and neither do harpoon and spear guns)

I think the higher powered rounds would not go as far. I think the .22 cal went deepest. Something about the higher speed caused the bullet to basically explode when it hit the water. Lower speed rounds didn't do that. It's been a while since I saw that episode. The .50 cal was pretty awesome. When it hit the water it splashed all the way up to the ceiling (indoor pool). It was pretty cool.

yea i saw that, But I know one gun that could go through 3 feet of water... Back in the revolutionary times they had what was known as a hand cannon. Pretty much a cannon just miniaturized. Anyways If it didnt blow up in your hand it oculd prolly go through 3feet and if not bust out the regular cannon.
