Nothing really works.Olden days of "inheritencs of profession" like prince becoming king, priest`s son becoming priest and so on worked .But Socrates did not accept it. Now we need a legislation by which cost of child birth,children`s education,care of the old,care of the physically and mentally challenged must be underwritten by state.And this becomes another version of "socialism".

illegal immigration. The next generation will be less educated because of all the students who don't speak English. They will have the worst health because the healthcare is being given free to the non-citizens and the rest of us have to wait in line to be treated. They won't see much of their paychecks because they are being taxed to pay for the welfare of the poor undocumented aliens.
