several retrenched workers(who chose to take a sum of money instead of staying with the company) in a certain company are being tapped by senior managers to replace several workers who are doing well in their respective jobs. These workers are friends of said executives. Meaning they are to steal the jobs of these helpless people

Unless the workers being replaced have some kind of a contract saying their jobs are protected, they can most likely be replaced. Depends some on state law, but most states are "employment at will" states, which means an employee can be let go for any reason or no reason, except they can't be let go because of their membership in a protected class such as because of their race, sex, religion.
