I am new to yahoo! Answers, and I really enjoy the asking and answering, but what do we do with the points? Can we trade them in for prizes?

Not the correct place for this question, but I will answer anyway.

You trade the points for information. Like now there will be times when you have questions. You can get good info and references from other posters.

I'm not sure about that. There is a part on your profile where you can read up what each level means etc.

I guess it's just the joys of asking and answering and learning

Just for curiosity and enjoyment.

To create eagerness among the boarders to answer more questions and share their view points, so that it could be used by others, in the necessary cases.

I read somewhere that you can trade in your points for cigarettes and beer. That sounds a little out there though!
