The idea must come from you. It is your creation...it belongs to you...but forever being who I am...here ya go: "Late at night, the computer screen blinking luminscent, casting an unearthly glow upon my face as I punch my keyboard in search of the next great idea..."

okay, I'll give you a couple first lines, and you can pick.
I took a deep breath and spoke the most important words I would ever utter. It was almost a realief to get them out after so many months of waiting. I looked to him for a reaction. And he laughed in my face.
Ben watched them stroll into the opera house. They were rich, they were priveliged; they paid him no mind. He shoved the bomb deeper into his coat and made his way to the balcony, hating himself for what he was about to do, but still striding on; he had no choice.
Millie's sandals made sharp tapping noises on the cobblestones as she walked towards the library; actually, a particular wing of the library, where the scribes worked, and where her brother was an apprentice to the king's scribe.
She rounded a bend stopped, feeling as if someone had punched her. The scribes' wing was burning.

Think of something you do regularly. Like drive through a particular street. Then place a WHAT-IF question relating to that activity? What if there was an accident on this street two minutes ago? What if this street got flooded? What if somebody crossing the street suddenly dropped dead?
Visualise any of these situations... your story could begin from there.

I found a book called "The Writers Block" --it is a book of pictures and ideas to help writers begin stories, foster ideas, etc. Maybe that will help. I got it at Barnes and Noble for $9.95
Good Luck

Thank you, thank you, thank you. This is a great honor. Thank you. Oh! You're hand is cold. You know what they say, cold hands equal warm hearts. Thank you, you are most kind. Yes, I've been working for this for years. Well, look, the line is almost done; why don't we go sit down and I'll tell you about it.

Spend a few moments fantasizing. Then give the people in your fantasy new names and write it down. Now you have a start.
