Because we can still afford it. I guess when gas hits $4/gallon, then we'll start seeing some changes. Such as people car pooling, government imposing a strict speeding limit of 55 mph, and less people traveling. The biggest impact this will have is the struggling airline industry. If gas prices continue to go up, airlines are force to raise their prices, which means less people will travel.

Well, it is sort of like the oil companies have total control over us. No one is going to be able to abstain from using gas for any period of time- how would we get to work? I think that the solution has to come from the government.

By the way, I saw on the news that last quarter BP made $55,000 gross profit every second. If that's not excessive and proof that they are over-charging, I don't know what is.

How many wars are there right now? Seriously--half the world can't agree that Israel has a right to exist and the other half can agree that Islam needs to be nipped, but you expect these people to band together and cooperate to get their gas for a dollar less. Seems like a tall order. That's just me talking, but really--ya think its possible?
