i'm 18 weeks pregnant and i just had my first ultrasound. my baby has a choroid plexus cyst. i've read about them, and now they're fairly common, and usually go away before its born. but i've also read its associated with edwards syndrome and downs syndrome. no one in my family has ever had edwards syndrome, but i have an aunt with downs. does that increase my babies risk? and does no one having edwards syndrome mean the risk for it is lower? i'm having trouble finding information about this.

I have a friend who has a pregnant niece and her baby had a cyst on the brain. The doctors said that there was nothing that could be done and that the baby would probably have downs syndrom. She heard of a nutritional product called Reliv and decided to take it after hearing some of the amazing results people were getting and how safe it was. When her baby was born the baby did not have the cyst and was perfectly healthly. It truely is a miracle. I hope this is encouraging to you. If you would like to hear more please e-mail.

Take care and God bless,

I had a similar problem early on in pregnancy. Those cyst are usually benign and resolve themselves. My babys went away and its as if it never was even there. Its just a soft marker that something can be wrong but not neccesarily. If u got some bloodwork done too it can also raise a red flag. Just remember too the bloodwork along with the cyst is just an increased risk of something being wrong. Honestly I wouldnt worry too much about it if the babys organs are fine and the baby is physically in perfect condition. The majority of the time when theres something genetically wrong something almost always shows up with the baby having problems with its organs and/or extremities. Best of luck to you and take it easy.
