i want to write a short poem that's not too sad, since most of the poems I write are long and depressing

A poem about redemption in a dark world.

How the **** do I know? My teacher says I can't appreciate poetry... and I dislike most poetry.

How about the tedious though steady and certain melting of the polar ice caps.
It might be a challenge to poetize it in an up-beat way but the subject is rife with poetic possibilities: ice into water, flora and fauna coping, etc.

i can't tell you what to write about. write down your thoughts if your poems are short then let them be short, if your poems are long then let them be long. don't put restrictions on your writing. can i ask you something? why are most of your poems depressing? try writing about some good things. it doesn't always have to be sad

I know you said no sad poems but I am in need of a poem on forbiden love.........A love so real between two poeple that could never be because they belong to other people.....A love that although so true would never be accepted by society.....Two hearts bearing the pain and misfortune of forbiden love....

Hay, My poems are the same way. It appears you have alot of negetive energy. Think positive. Maybe about someone you love or have som sort of cruch on. go ahead try it!

I suggest you write something about love, sure it's nothing new, poems about love have been written since time immemorial, but there is a universal appeal about love, it's easily identified and appreciated by a reader, and everyone who has been in love can relate to it.
