For example, parts of X-men ( the first one- when they were in the train station) were shot in my hometown. It was really cool!

Just a couple of weeks ago lindsay lohan was here filming for her new movie "georgia rule". i live in a small town (pop. 30,000 and pretty ghetto) an hour and a half away from LA. its a town that looks old so a lot of movies are filmed in our downtown. Rumor has it that when she went to a restaurant in our downtown she through a hissy fit cuz she didn't like the soup of the day (clam chowder) so she went to the restrooms and locked herself in. Also heard she was a ***** that wouldn't say hi to anyone and that she was asking everyone how many gangs we had in our town. Someone told me too that she was walking around with a vodka glass in her hand! They also said she was waayy too skinny. My friends mom owns a hair salon where they filmed so she had a lot of the cast in her salon to cool off and have some drinks. Supposedly the cast didn't like her because she was a brat! And from what i have been reading on yahoo headlines everything i was told is true! A lot of articles were saying that the cast of "georgia rule" don't like her because she is a brat. I also read that she had a "heatstroke" because of the 105 degree weather (it was that hot a couple of weeks ago). The cast however said she must've used that excuse for her hard partying the night before (the vodka prolly got to her). So anyway guys look out for the movie it was filmed in the small town of Santa Paula. Other movies filmed in SP are "Bubble boy", "Joe Dirt", "Carrie", "Leave it to beaver", music videos from nsync & j.lo and the others i can't remember but there are some more.

Right now there is a movie being made on a part of a freeway that I usually go on. I'm in Mesa Arizona (lots of desert and dry heat) and we get a lot of films being made out here for some reason. They are usually small low budget ones but this recent one isn't. Sorry but I don't know the name of it and I don't know who is starring in it. Parts of "Groundhog's Day" was made where I was born which was Illinois.

They're doing quite a few movies in the Richmond VA area these days & more are to come. And not just Civil War flicks, either.
Iron Jawed Angels was filmed here, to name one. Tim & Daphne Reid have a film company nearby, as well.

Well, in the movie North (with Elijah Wood) at one point he walks over a bridge, leading to a mall. That's about 10 minutes from my house :-) The inside of the mall in the movie is somewhere different though.

I live in Bridgewater NJ

Some parts of The Island were shot in downtown Detroit. While it's not exactly my hometown--I work there. I watched them shoot some scenes.
