well im not the 1 who needs help but a friend of mine...the thing is that my friend doesnt talks...when i say it i reallly mean it..she hasnt talked to me ever since i met her..n i met her 3 yesrs back...NEVER EVER heard her voice...the only people she talks to is her mom n her sis...if u say hello to her she will just nod,but wont even say "hello"
even when iam sitting right next to her she will communicate wid me by writing on a paper..ihave NEVER herad her voice...i tried every possible thing to make her talk but she wont budge...if u call her on the cell u have to talk in a way to get yes or no answer..like if u ask her "wanna go to movie??"...if she gives 1 beep its a 'yes' and if 2 beeps then thats a 'no'..
even my professors have givenup..they have talked to her..told her if wont answer the question in the class ,she will be taken to principal..she is reday to go to principal but not ready to talk.she hasnt got any friends in her class!!iam the only one whom she calls friend

i noticed this problem of her the very same day i met her..i said "hi..im sania..wts ur name"...she just smiled n kept looking at me..i said, " ru deaf?"...she just shook her head..n i asked her so many question of which none have been answered..she will write but wont talk

iam bringing it up now rofjo82, coz i thought i could do something abt it..i tried everyhting i could think of but my mind has stopped working now...i know wt i have gone throgh these 3 years..
i even tried to blackmail her by saying,"i thought u were my friend..ever since we have met i long to hear my name spoken by u"..but that girl!!!!!! i dont know wt she is made up of..she just wont budge

just to make her talk i dont hang out with my other friends or she might feel that iam avoiding her or just getting bored by sitting next to her ..i dont go to a movie if she doesnt..in skool i will just say 'hi' to other friends n come n sit with her,no matter even if she communicates me by writing..i just want her to talk..

How about this...
Perhaps she has a really bad speech problem and that is why she won't talk to anyone.
If not then try this.
Ask her mom or sis to use a hidden tape recorder or video cam. Then talk to her and get her on the tape speaking.
Then you can hear her. Once you have heard her you can say so to her and then say, "I have heard you speak so you don't have to be silent to me any more."

Wow thats deep. I really dont know what to say about that. You say she talks to her mom. The only thing that crosses my mind is to maybe tickle her and see if she starts talking. Maybe you can get an appointment with a psychatrist and they can give you some answers.

This is a known condition. Can't remember what it's called but it's basically extreme social anxiety. Like if you've ever had to speak publicly and you just froze up? It's that taken to an extreme extent. I believe it is treatable.

Keep putting your arm around her and supporting her in any way possible. She will talk when she is ready to talk but really feeling your affection will certainly help her more than any words.

maybe shes had an emotional crisis because i felt like that to. i took a vow that i wouldn't speak until unless i absolutely had to. you can't really sove it unless you know what happened to her. you should hang out with her one day just to sit and talk to her and try to comfort and see if you can get anything. try your best because your friend may need someone desperately,
