That is the high ideal of the UNO but has been observed more in its breach. except in its initial years by sending material help in times of disaster and Peace Corps in various areas of conflict.However, slowly but surely it started to roll down the path of its predeceswsor League of Nations. The UNO depends upon funds and cooperation from members.As the international politics hotted up that became their first priority The members tried to use UNO to further their own policies and overlooked breach of UN charter if it suited them.For example Iraq. As the ascedancy of Israel is beneficial to the Wester World it has pulled its skin over its eyes about the atrocities of Israel.There is an urgent need of reinvigorating theUNO.

UN failed so many times to save civilians...
(Just look at what happened in 1994 in Rwanda...)
They can't reach anyway an agreement as long as US vetoes every single resolution against Israel...
