Depends on where you live but there are a few places here in southern california that rents the books out and allows you read them in the store and drink tea and boba on a sofa. Way cool

If you want 'free' but don't care about owning the manga I would suggest your local library. In the last few years, the amount of manga/graphic novels that libraries have obtained for circulation has jumped (though the amount may vary from area to area).

Finding 'free' manga is a little more difficult than finding the anime version. Anime is already in a technical format while to put manga online, it needs to be scanned in first and sometimes even altered from there. To find a full series (from a legit site) I sure is rather rare, as I don't know of any that post manga (that has been translated into English).

If you don't mind just getting part of the series though, check out TokyoPop's website:
www.tokyopop.com
They have a few manga series for online previewing.

Waldens Bookstore has been known in my area to have various sales on manga if that store is available in your area. The sales vary from a certain % off to "buy a certain # of books, and get one free". Keep an eye for sales from the online sites of bookstores, especially if you make your purchases all at once instead of one at a time. Buying them all at once may bring your total price high enough that you won't be charged the shipping fee.

Also if you know of any anime conventions in your area, you can find deals on manga there.

Then there's Ebay (as someone else suggested), but also check Amazon.com, especially if you don't mind buying used books. Used books can be in near perfect quality but yet be much cheaper if you are careful and know what you are looking for.

i don't think there are any sites like that, but you might get a manga or anime cheaper on sites like eBay...or you can buy a subscription to shonen or shojo magazines, such as shounen jump or shojo beat, of course it only has a chapter of different types of manga, but think of it this way, you can have a lot more to like.
