job application asks for specific work history including dates for past ten years but i cannot remember details...is there any website to search?

There isn't a way to check your history. They ask for history so they can call for references and have an excuse to dismiss you if you left anything out. Credit reporting agencies often have a job listed, but it's rarely accurate. Mine is still listing a job I left back in 1999!

Be as honest as you can in filling out the application, but don't worry that there is some magic way for them to instantly verify the information. There isn't.

You can check your past tax returns (hopefully you kept them somewhere) and look up the w-2s to at least get the company name and year - I don't think you have to be too specific on the actual dates the further back you go.

your credit report has all that information. Go to www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp You can print out your credit report for free once a year. You don't have to sign up for anything and it doesn't cost any money. By law you are allowed to check your credit report once a year and not have to pay for it. Good luck.
