You must look to the whole chart to see what type of people you are attracted to not just your own sun sign and the other person's sun sign.
The 1st house is you, your personality and appearance..
The 5th house rules love affairs.
The 7th house rules partnerships.
The 8th house rules sexuality.
What planets are in the above houses and what aspects do they make? What signs are those planets in? What sign is on the cusp of those houses? What elements (fire, earth, air & water) and qualities (cardinal, fixed & mutuable) are involved?
For a female's chart you can look to the Sun and Mars and their aspects for what types of males they are attracted to.
For a male's chart you and look to the Moon and Venus and their aspects for what types of females they are attracted to.

Any sign can be with any other sign. It all depends on your whole chart, based on your DATE, PLACE, EXACT TIME of birth, not just your Sun signs.
Your whole chart then is then compared to the other person's whole chart using a technique called Synastry.
The aspects between each other's planets and points must be looked at and interpreted. The planets in each others houses must be looked at and interpreted, both ways. Affinities must be looked for. It's not simple to a layperson, but it is to people who are educated in Astrology terminology.
Sun sign horoscopes are absolutely inaccurate to determine compatibility between two people.

They are a water sign, which generally means that they are sensual. they are insecure unless there are other indications in their birthchart to suggest otherwise. This insecurity came make them seem a little "detached" only because it is a defense mechanism. They can kind of withdraw in their outer protective shell, hence, the crab. They would like scorpios or piceans or other cancers, and maybe earth signs like Taurus, Virgo, or their opposite which is Capricorn. They also might like Libras.

Well (cancerian male here). i find there is alot of things astrologicly speaking that contribute to attraction (astroleolady is very correct)
i generally find that women im physicly attracted to often have physical traits that go with my venus, and i also find that with alot of the guys i know. but on the flipside i often end up attracting women more like the sign my 7th house is in.
generally though. women who arent afraid of those cancerian moodswings, and willing to be supportive when those moods really get bad. and yes cuddeling is a definate plus. as far as physical attraction, it doesnt take mutch jog pants and a sweatshirt are perfectly fine for clothing. dont need anything extravagent .... we tend more to rely on our emotional attraction to people though.

i don't know. i am living with a roomate who is cancerian. He is a flirt and very emotional. I found him talkin to girls always. I think he liked Gemini's once and was in deep love but girl cheated on him. Was heart broken for months. So guess someone like gemini

Someone they can manipulate. I agree with earlier poster about someone out of their reach. Taboo/off limits women. Women that do not chase after them - they like the chase.
