No, not directly responsible. But, definitely indirectly responsible. The President needs to say more than "use restraint" to Isreal. That is not being neutral. The President needs to tell Isreal to get the heck out of Lebanon and quit bombing innocent people. Then, try to help Isreal and Lebanon try to resolve the conflict. That would be neutral, in my opinion.

Hezbulla committed an act of war and violated a peace agreement with Israel. Israel is a recognized country and has the right to defend itself.
The U.S. can not be held responsible for giving another country the ability to defend its people.

Yah, the USA is responsible for all the ills of the world, like the starvation in Africa as well as the hatred between the Muslims and the Jews.

do you think the majority of the people using this site pay that much attention to get factual evidence besides the most simple, quickest, common news? do you know who gives them their news? Do you think that many people believe this nasty stuff evaporates when they turn off their news? do you think anyone cares who has bombed them when they're dead or out of their minds with grief for their dead children? do think such a thing would get someones attention? do you think the definition of responsibility has changed in the USA in the past 60 years? do you think standards have changed?

well god knows we just twisted Israels arm to attack a long time problem.
And just what was the wording did we use to tell Hezbollah to park rocket launchers in an apartment building.
How many season tickets to the Mets games did we give to Iran to send them those rockets.
was it satellite decoder cards that we gave to Syria to funnel the rockets.
That's right the U.S and no one else is blame for this.

Israel is the one directly responsible because they are the ones bombing. US is liable only as an ally because it supports Israel and provide it with arms.

no.
it's like trying to say a baseball bat company is responsible for somebody being beaten by a baseball bat.
How about blaming the perpetrator for crying out loud?

You cant blame the U.S. for anything that Israel does, but... It would not hurt for the U.S. to stand up against them every once in a while.
