I like a product by Guardsman called ironically Suede Protector. You can get it at most shoe repair shops but also in the discounters and at some grocery and drug stores. I like it because it protects the suede without discoloration, it resists water stains, scuffs and salt stains during the winter. Of course, resist the temptation to wear suede shoes in a rainstorm because the protector won't make the shoes waterproof if you step in a puddle.

never get them wet. stay away from any drips that would put spots on them. Store them in a shoe box and in a way so that the nap is not flattened.
