i think if you pay with paypal, you can ask paypal for money if the laptop doesn't work.....

It really depends. Be careful when buying computers on eBay, while most sellers are trying to make an honest living and not rip anyone off, some use pirated software on their computers. Just make sure that the seller has a high feedback rating and you should be OK. hope this helps:)

I would not recommend to do that because usually u save a little, but you have no tech. support from the buyer, sometimes product gets damaged while travelling to you. Also never buy if you see a very cheap laptop or if the seller's feedback is negative.

My advise - ask your friends opinion and check local computer stores.

Probably safer than not but I will tell you that my Mom signed for an empty box and the seller is g o n e ... about 2 years ago. Still not resolved. Just about EVERY other transaction has gone smoothly. Dell has awesome deals and HP is the most reliable. I purchased my best computer from local classifieds. Best wishes to you!

if i were u... and i was to spend 1200, i would be spending it on something new. but thats ur call, i assumed ebay was fo buying other people's junk, so like if u buy a laptop for like ultra cheep 100 or 200 dollars then fine,

o and dont forget about thy guy who sold a broken laptop and got what he deserverd, lol, so ur worries about being scammed.. it does happen:

generally no its not SAFE, but using an escrow service where you can inspect the item before paying, is really the best way to do it and the ONLY way to make sure you dont get shafted with a terrible product.
