I don't watch much TV - and Deadwood is the only show I always watch, so I guess that qualifies it for my favorite show, all in all.

Deadwood was cancelled and its actors released back in May - even before Season 3 was being aired. HBO apparently had offered Milch a short (6-episode) final season - sort of like what is happening with Sopranos. Milch refused, so HBO cancelled.

Staff, actors, and fans were not pleased.

After some petition-signing, letter-writing, etc., HBO agreed to do two two-hour movies to finish up Milch's tell of the story. I believe they are still in the process of resigning the cast. I don't what sort of schedule for production/broadcast.

Love it and yes, it's ending. They are going to run a few "wrap up episodes" for next year, though. Thanks HBO.
