Whatever works for her and the baby. I prefer the bottle so father and baby can bond as well.

Breastfeeding is healthier for the baby overall. I breastfed my first for 5 months, then bottle fed. Our second I have been breastfeeding (and bottles now & then) for a year now. It has been a wonderful experience and I wouldnt trade it for the world.
I would do some research and give her the facts on breastfeeding and formula feeding. She can still breastfeed but give bottles so someone else can feed baby now and then. That way she will get a break too.

To the person who said that bottle feeding would "save your boobs"--you are SO wrong. You're breasts will change the moment you become pregnant--reguardless of whether or not you choose to breastfeed!! So choosing to NOT breastfeed just to "save" your perky t*ts is NOT right.

Breast feeding is the best for the baby and the mom. But some times it does not always work. Keep in mind that you will feel left out when it comes time to feed the little one! Breast fed babies bond more with mom during this time. There will be times when she needs to leave and guess what you have to wait for the milk to warm while dealing with a screaming baby. For her it is convienient and cheaper. Let her try it, it is the least you can do for your relationship with the both of them! GOOD LUCK

Breastfeeding has been proven to be healthier so long as both mother and child are happy with it. If the mother doesn't produce enough milk, it gets too stressful, or the baby just won't latch properly, there's no sense in continuing because the stress from trying to breastfeed will outweigh the health benefits. Bottom line: if baby is eating fine and both are happy, that's what's best. Breastfeeding is cheaper, though. ;) If mom is willing to pump, she should as long as possible, even if using a bottle to feed to the baby later. Even if mom isn't producing enough milk, it can always be supplemented with formula. Even without health benefits, it will be cheaper in the long run.

I mostly agree with what the others have said. I breastfed my two and currently am my third. For me, it's the best. No bottles to deal with, it's healthy for both of us, I could go on and on. However, as some have mentioned, it truly is on an individual basis. Some moms just can't do it for many reasons, sometimes it's even that they don't produce enough or healthy enough milk for the baby to thrive. Other than those reasons, or it's too painful, or some other health reason, I truly believe breast is best. Nature's way is typically the best way.

Breast feeding is healthier, but i would do both. Breastfeed when you are with the child and try to bottlefeed when the baby is visiting relatives or at the babysitter. The mother may not pump enough milk when baby is away so I think bottlefeeding is best when your little one is away.

Breast feeding help to boost your bab'y immune system. There are certain vitamins in brest milk that a bay can't get anywhere else. You should reall research both and make the decision you think is best for you and your child.

breast milk is better for the baby... nutrition, bonding, antibodies
formula is great as well... often the baby can be more settled as formula is more filling

benefits for the mother
breastfeeding- relax, bonding it is natural.... no mess
bottle feeding- saves your boobs!

it should be discussed but ultimately it is your partners decision... she will do what is best for her and what she feels comfortable with... support whateven decision she makes
