Yes, these things go in cycles, and the right wing crazy cycle is just about coming to a close (another few months and election 2006, the democrats will take at least one house of congress, so maybe the system of checks and balances will be applied again), then 2008, we'll see.

Yes, provided the world is still intact by the time the next election rolls around. If the other major party does not come up with good candidates who offer rational and credible alternatives, you might see more of the same thing. How did George W. Bush get in for a second time, given the large scale criticism of many of his policies and decisions?

He is right wing, but just because he is religious, does not mean he is a nut. Would you rather have a leader without religion, such as Stalin? Would you like to live in a country like the USSR? Bush does not hold a candle to the religious fanatics that control Middle East policy.

American politics tends to go in cycles, kind of like the swing of a pendulum. If you consider Bush to be a right-wing, religious nut, then yes, another just like him will eventually be elected. I am just hoping it isn't for a while :)

Right-wing religious nut? When did we elect one of those? We've had lots of right-wingers, but the only religious nut to hold office in my lifetime was Jimmy Carter. Democrat, as I recall.

I got news for you buddy. By all indications, the democ rats are about to be further marginalized this september and the election in '08 is going to go to a staunch conservative rather than a liberal appeaser like Bush.

You guys are screwed for at least the next decade.

If another court rules that gays have an equal right to marry, yes, I think that a religious PERSON will win again.
