Windsor ontario runs for about 425,000!
And here in "oil rich" Alberta it would be like 800,000 to a million!
Why the big price difference?
And these are newer homes!
Why????
Maybe I will move to Windsor!

I can't really answer your question, but here is something that'll kick you in the chins: My Uncle & Aunt bought a house a long time ago for $18,000 in California, and today the same house goes for $900,000! And if my parents would have held on to a house that they owned a long time ago, and sold it now, we would have been millionaires!!! Now that is HOLY CRAP!!!

Supply and demand decides the price of a house, materials and labor have little to do with it. As far as I can see there is little job opportunity in Windsor that pays very well. Take this into your consideration before you move.

Move just north of Windsor, Ont., about 100 kilometers to Barrie, Ont., and the houses drop to about $300,000 for that size. Booyah!

Usually when the cost of living is lower in an area it is because incomes are lower as well. I live in FL and homes here are twice to three times as much as the homes in NC (where I am moving to in two weeks).
