Rakim, he is so influential to the rap game that without him rappers would be making their music different. He brought that laid back style and the smoothness that the greatest rap artist posess; before him this wasn't even a variable in the rap game.

To you people who say its just noise. there is rap with a message. example:rakim, tupac,pharohe monche,nas, and plenty of others .and just because the rap you hear is pointless noise doesnt mean all of it is.get your facts straight before you diss a whole genre of music.dont judge it based on what you hear on the radio or mtv or etc.i know how you feel cause i used to think it was mostly noise untill then i heard rappers with important things to talk about.anyways, if rap is noise then rock is definitely noise.but i do like some rock.anyways peace out!!!!
