I have also learned a good way to kill them, but it doesnt help if they are really bad. I have sprayed roaches with 91% Isopropyl alcohol, and it kills them over dead on their backs.

those inside ones (German) get everywhere, drawers, cabinets, stove, fridge and they are small. Sewer roaches are bigger, blacker and don't run all over your house. I live near the pool so they come onto my patio sometimes.

Same here; don't have a link but there are several varieties of roaches. Most that are in people's homes (and it depends on where you live) are known as the German roach and can grow up to 2 inches. Here in the south, the ones here are HUGE!! Some are big as your thumb. They fly and then try to land on you. I'm not afraid of them but, they are nasty because they carry disease. Anyway, water bugs are a type of insect that lives in the water (duh!) and they have a hard time walking on land. In Florida, when it rains alot, they have been known to leave the water and walk around. They can grow up to 6 inches. I remember at a Walmart, the guy would be at the door catching them in a small net and taking them out and stepping them. (they are attracted by the light) Try going to Wikipedia and typing in both and see what they say. They may also have links. (I'm not making up the part about the waterbugs at Walmart)

If you know what a cockroach looks like...a waterbug looks like a cockroach on steroids. They are abour 5 times bigger than a cockroach and live in warmer climates.

My ex mother in law used boric acid and sugar mixed together. She would put the mixture in a mayonaise jar lid under her fridge. The adult roaches would eat the sugar and get the boric acid on their bodies...they take that back to the nest to feed the babies, who eat it and it kills all of them. Most roaches build a tolerance to chemical sprays. Keeping things in your kitchen cupboard in tightly closed containers will help. Sewer roaches are about 1" long and shiny black. Field roaches or olders roaches are all sizes and brown or brownish red in color. When a female has an egg sack going it will look like a bulb on her tail end.

Ugh, Aren't they gross! I use roach traps which work well in controlling them. Roaches are roaches and water bugs are cousins of roaches? They are all big and ugly and I hate them!!
