no, i dont think so. You are supposed to put ice or simply rub it down IMMEDIATELY so that the swelling can start goin down. If u didnt do that, then i dont think 12 hrs is that bad. Must have hurt like a bi**ch tho

It depends on how hard did he fall and from what height?if there is no blueblck mark on his forehead ,i think u should not worry much.u may apply some warm fermentation now since it is atleast 12 hrs.old problem.but normally immediately after the fall if u see the area swelling u should first apply cold fermentation on the affected area, which resolves the problem from forming a lump.If ur child is stable and not crying on touching that wounded part ,u dont have to worry, but if it shows pain u must see a doctor.

I have always heard that getting a lump is a good sign, when they crack their head and don't get a lump, thats when you need to worry and also a blow to the back of the head is much more serious so I've been told, but i might still mention it to my pediatrician, just for peace of mind if for no other reason.

Of course there are reasons to be concerned. While none of these are likely, they're all possible.

- Concussion
- Sub dural hematoma (bleeding)
- Fracture
- Brain injury
- Swelling

Not to cause undue panic, but for someone that young, you need to be cautious.
