Looking for food probably. I had a possum scare, one night I was taking out the trash, and sitting on top of my garbage can, was a possum, staring at me, I screamed, and it hissed, I threw the trash down and ran inside!......:)

I have opossums living in my back yard. They eat the insides of the oranges that fall from my tree. They are good to have around cuz they eat alot of bugs and I don't eat my oranges anyways.
