Global warming is quite real, the low lands are the ones that are most at risk as the melting of the snow caps would raise sea levels. However, the damage had been done by all industrial countries and to repair the damage would be a costly affair, so the fact that you are hearing conflicting opinions is because no one wants to take ownership of past sins. The amount of pollutants in the atmosphere can only be growing higher and higher if nothing is done. Global waming is just one of the many problems created by humans. Think about it, humans are the only species in our world that can destroy everything else, including itself.

We are definitely experiencing a hot weather trend for the last decade or so but that is different than saying that car pollution is causing it. In the 1930's there was the great heat and drought that caused the dust bowls in Oklahoma, Texas and the general southern Plains area. There were very few automobiles around the county and the world for that matter to blame it on auto emissions. You can't control the natural forces of nature and it could be that the planet is just winding down since every year we technically lose the strength of some of the natural forces such as the magnetic force or the effects of gravity. It has been said that one volcano going off can exceed all car emissions world wide in pollution. I would like to see some real science not made up graphics or theories to prove that man is mostly responsible for global warming. Of course it makes sense to get off petroleum based fuels and get into less polluting ones such as hydopowered vehicles which would be better than electric battery cells because water vapor will dissipate back into the water cycles of the planet.

Glacier National Park at one time had over 300 glaciers when it was first discovered. Today the number is in the 30's. Within 20 years the name will be a misnomer. There will be no glaciers in Glacier National Park. Polar bears have a much shorter hunting season because there is less of an ice pack. Yes, Virginia, there is global warming. Of course, it is not the first time this has happened and it won't be the last. The real question is: What is causing it? Is the cause nature or man? It is highly possible that the pollutants we send into the air are causing a green house effect.

It's scary and already making animals sketchy, but...we are a long ways until we're "doomed". People just want to scare us a bit to start taking action. Which I think is fine to a certain extent.

Doesn't mean we should continue what we're doing, as far as wasting power and resources, but it might be a good idea to grow a tree or stop having a lot of babies. Overpopulation = less resources = fight for survival! And many other things. Like China. They have to limit their population by allowing only 1 or 2 children per family, because of lack of land and resources. They can also do that because they're not a democratic nation, which is why we Americans have to voluntarily stop squirting out a zillion kids per family.

Kinda scary, real or not. It's probably real because the evidence for global warming outwieghs the evidence against it.

The hole in the ozone is growing, and thats been proven, although it isn't for sure related to global warming.

Regardless, anyone who has been to a big city in a not too developed country can tell that pollution sucks and it's unhealthy for us and everything else. The most common sense thing to do is to try to conserve energy the best we can.

Oh its real and with the weather conditions so volitile and people developing lung diseases who have never smoked a day in their lives, you got to know that the hole in the ozone is real b/c of GW. Eventually the Bush administration will have to admit that it is real. Notice how the temperatures are higher than what they were 10 years ago or that summer seems to last longer than usual in some areas.

I think its strange that global warming only makes the headlines in the summertime. Of course its hot, its summer. However I do believe that we are seeing a steady increase in global temperatures. I don't think it will mean the end of the world though. I think doomsday prophets are trying to make money out of the whole idea.

I'm looking forward to it.

That way we can find out what is fact and what is madeup BS.

Actually, the only negatives I see from it, is most of Florida and perhaps California will be under water. Canada as well. So there will be lots of polar bears and Canadians treading water.

And the weather in Michigan, where I live, will be roughly the same as it is currently in Tennessee.

It's a fact that is happening NOW. Look at the ice cap in Greenland. The ice cap has been receding and shrinking during the last ten years. (Go googling "Greenland,Global warming")

We should do something before all is too late.

It's real. Watch Al Gore's documentary.

If you don't believe me, walk outside in the summer and think back to your less-heated summer last year. Then look around your neighborhood, and look back at old photos. There's a difference, and it's global warming.
