Oh yes, I feel ya...you know what happened to me just a few weeks ago is worse than just waving...this guy had on one of those cell-phone-ear-pieces and he was standing where I couldn't see the ear piece. He started talking and I thought he was talking to me...so I said something back. He looked at me like I was an idiot and then said...I have my wife on the line and turned so I saw the ear piece. WOW. I was embarrassed. Stupid technology.

Yeah, all the time. I just give up and once I notice they are waving at someone else I make sure to wave extra harder so they stare at me and then do a back wave and say,"not you." That usually ends their waving into a crowd.

I hate that. When you notice some one you don't know looking in your direction and smiling or waving. Then you smile and wave back and they are really doing it for someone else. Then they realize what you just did and you can't play it off.

Yup, I even shook hands with the person before I realized he was waving at the man at my back...they exchanged looks with each other as if I was a weirdo. It was sooooooooooo embarassing!! I wished the ground to swallow me!

YES! that is pretty embarassing, it is also embarassing when you wave at someone and have someone else wave back too... then i just pretend i was waving at both :/

Yeah. I usually am standing right in the middle of them so I have to excuse myself to get out of the way too. Not good.

no never happened to me - if i dont recognise them i'll just smile rather than wave - at least I dont look like a lemon if i dont know them
