My husband was a very different man when we first met. He helped around the house and treated me with respect.
Since we had 2 children one is 4 and the youngest is 2, he doesn't do anything, but make messes for me to clean up. I ask him to pick his stuff and to please put it away. He calls me a nag.
Today I so wanted to tell him that I didn't feel like a wife anymore..just a slave.

I think communication is the most important tool in any marriage/relationship. Haveing said that, I think you should sit him down and talk to him about these things. Tell him what you're expectations are for a husban'd role in the marriage and have him to relay the same information to you as what his expectations are for you in this relationship. The both of you need to find a system that works for you. Men are slobs - dont know why but they are. My husband is wonderful, but he, too, has his moments. I cannot stand clutter or having to pick up behind him but I do on most days. We have this understanding. When I tell him that a certain something is 'affecting my OCD" then that is his cue to start helping me more and stop being such a slob. He does have slip ups but I have a certain phrase that helps him to remember "OCD" - he is great.

Hope this helps

I feel the same way. I know my husband works a very good full time job, but I work, too, and we both have a 2 year old together. My husband does pick up after himself, but not as much as I would like him to. But I always tell him that if he would just pick up after himself, then I wouldn't have to nag all of the time. I understand that my husband works more hours than I do, but my part-time hours plus all the hours watching and taking care of my son, while he isn't there, adds up to his hours. So I think that in a way he has no room to get mad. When I get mad, I say cocky stuff like that. Heck, you have a right to get mad, just say it if it makes you feel better. Maybe it'll make something click in his head. I hate getting mad, but I also can't stand living in a pig-sty. I'm not comfortable in my house if there is a mess. Maybe give him a room to keep clean, like the living room. Or a room that he uses the most.

pile his junk on his side of the bed and leave it there. when he shoves it on the floor just put it back and leave it there when he complains you say it would not be on the bed if he would put his stuff away and then don' tsay any more. don't argue about it ignore him or go outside even and keep doing it he will get the message/ Mine did.

DON'T CLEAN THE HOUSE ANYMORE, LET THE HOUSE BECOME SO MESSY THAT HOPEFULLY HE WILL GET TIRED OF IT AND TAKE THE INITIATIVE AND CLEAN IT HIMSELF. IF YOU KEEP DOING IT FOR HIM ALL OF THE TIME , THEN HE WILL DEPEND ON YOU TO CLEANUP THE HOUSE ALL OF THE TIME. I'TS HIS TURN TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND WORK AROUND THE HOUSE TOO.

Tell him what you've told us. Tell him how he's changed into a lazy bum (but in kinder words...) and how he's not the same person you once knew.
