Adu is a nice player and he is still very young. Dos Santos is also very young and I would dare say that they're very close in age but that is about it. Skill-wise, dos Santos, is light-years ahead. While a case could've been made for Adu to be on this years national team, dos Santos should've been in Mexico's national team. Dos Santos is basically Ronaldinho but with the heart of a Mexican boxer. That combination will prove lethal during the next qualifying stages for the next World Cup.

In dos Santos, Mexico has finally found that one player all of Mexico has dreamed about for decades. Mexico has always had good and even great players like Sanchez, Marquez, Fonseca, and so on. But it has never seen or had anything like dos Santos. He plays like a Brazilian and battles like an undersized Mexican. He is a creator an innovator and a scorer. Did you happen to see last years Youth World Cup in Peru? He dominated and he should've received the best player award but instead it went to a Brazilian.

Did you catch a glimpse of his performance over the weekend? He played in a pre-season game with Barcelona's top team, not the B team where he currently plays. He dribbled to the right side of the goalie's box with 2 defenders on him. He stopped, hesitated, faked towards the out of bounds line, and in one swift movement dribbled between the 2 defenders and boomed a shot past the goalkeeper, with his LEFT foot. Nice goal. If you missed it, don't worry, I'm sure that you'll see more of those in the near future.

Have you caught a glimspe of Adu. Yes, on the bench giving out autographs and smiling for the cameras. I love Adu because of his youth and potential, upside if you will. But if I bought a team and I had a choice between the two, I'd select dos Santos without hesitation. Hands down.

i also agree. giovanni dos santos is doing a good thing playing for barcelona b team. he can develope better there and once hes mature he can play for the real barca team. freddy adu made a bad choice of going pro so early, now hes playing for a crappy team and it looks like he can never play well in euro. he should had done the same thing as giovanni. if u go and look up some stuff about it, giovanni can make 3.6 european money on a spain team if he wanted to go pro , freddy adu can only make 1/4 of that money. so in my opinion i say giovanni. he can dribble way better than freddy and do better tricks that freddy. everybody thinks that freddy will be the next pele but hes going to be a reguler player but for giovanni, he is the next ronaldinho maybe even better

Adu is just all hype, the US hasnt had any good players for years and is with a bad team.

Dos Santos on the other hand showed he was an excellent young player in the U-17 World Cup and that got him to play for Barcelona.

Dos Santos would win by a long shot.

Dos Santos. Freddy is good. The hype is too much really! Gio did not need any of it. It came to him with the goals he scored. Viva Mexico!

Gio of course, just take a look at the goal he scored on his debut with Barcelona's first team. In words of Ronaldinho "next world crack" i dont think he even know who Adu is.

i think that adu is all just hype, he isnt that good. if he's gd, he would be making headlines like dos santos. this mexico lad is the real deal and that's why barca snapped him up.
