Did Anyone else have problems with Yahoo.com on 7/29/06?

My Yahoo.com was down all day yesterday and last night. Did anyone else have this problem? What causes cookies and does going into chat lines and old history books cause your computer to become infected? I have 2 anti spam programs on my internet. Could someone give me an inkling if someone is trying to hack into my computer?

yahoo was updating something, everyones was messing up. (including mine)
