we are taught that there is alway 2 sides. IE: ying & yang - man & woman- Heaven & hell- right & wrong - this & that - plus & minus......you get the picture.....
I would like to know if we didnt have any form of evil. Could good live on? and is that why we have the Devil, because god needed it?

One needs a basis for comparison.If it was all good, how would we know if we didn't have something with which to compare it?

Yes, good can very well survive without evil.
The only thing is that we as human beings have a comparative view of life. the moment you remove evil from the face of earth , good takes a beating as everything around is good so it's no more a virtue and we don't realise the value of it.
So contrasts are important but this does not mean that I am magnifying the cause of evil the only problem being an inherent tendency of our's to to long for contrasts.

We exist in a world where evil is basically taken for granted but it wasn't always so and soon, it will not be that way ever again. Satan has been able to disrupt all happiness and peace on earth for a very long time. He will soon be put away for 1,000 years and humans who are alive then will get a taste of the real life for the first time.

For the short term, evil will survive good.
This is only to give evil a sense of false security. All those baddies who think they are getting away with murder will pay one day, in one form or another. If society doesn't catch up with him, Some Greater Being will.
In the long term, karma will out...

God knew of evil so he did not make it until us

Why not, if we were all good then there would be no evil! so yes ofcourse it can, believe in yourself and dont always believe what people want us to believe.
