There is so much more to life these days than past and most thirty year olds' have been in love more than once. You really have to get to know the other person well. I suggest living with that person for at least three months to see how compatible you really are. And that is hard to do at 18 when your not completely independent with a high enough paying job.

I suppose because the common belief is with age comes wisdom, and if your 17 years old- you don't have a whole lot of experience and may not know what love really is.
