He should be a candidate, and he should be in the Hall of Fame. Hell, someone broke the all-time hitting record. Someone was on the Reds team of the '70's. Yes, he gambled. He should not be allowed to be on a baseball field during a major league game again, but give me a break. Look at a lot of the people in the hall now: womanizers, drunks, and racists. They are in, why not him?

i hope they don't i never liked that idiot he is a disgrace to baseball and i think that if the baseball hall of fame committee allows that fool in the hall of fame then anybody could get away with what that thing did. then instead of the hall of fame , it should change its name to the hall of shame i would probably stop watching baseball.

He still is banned, he can't be considered.
Nor should he.
In order to get baseball to stop investigating whether or not he bet on baseball he agreed ( his idea ) to a lifetime ban. He has cried like a baby that he has been treated badly ever since. All the time denying he ever bet on baseball. Then suddenly he admits it just because he hopes to get into hall of fame.
He should never be considered. His idea. I agree.

You got to admit He was a good player. Played ball like it should be with gusto.
Charlie Hustle should at least get a mention in the Hall of fame

Highly doubtful. What is even worse is that Barry Bonds (who in my opinion has done more damage to the sport of baseball, he just never was caught) will someday be in the hall of fame.

It's getting old hearing the "Ty Cobb was a racist" and "Babe Ruth was a boozer" arguments.
There's no rule in baseball that says you can't be a racist. And there's nothing in the rule book that says you can't be a boozer.
There are rules against gambling (regardless of whether it's your own team or not) as well as even associating with gamblers.
Rose should not be in the HOF.

I say let him in. Ty Cobb was a violent racist, Babe Ruth was a boozer and I'm sure lots of other guys in the hall of fame had their faults but they were allowed in.

If a cheater like Joe Jackson isn't allowed into the HOF, then Rose shouldn't be either.

A bigger sham was Buck O'neill being left out, also Andre Dawson should be in.
