Republican because they are a little more change-oriented, working for policies that fit our times. Most of the republican presidents are really creative in their policies. It was the republican California that limited the power of the federal government to increase property tax via Proposition 13 in 1978. Imagine what would have happened if that didn't happen. The federal government would have increased our property taxes to fund the war on Iraq and Afghanistan in the previous years. The republican also managed to extend the economic boom and through quick policy maneuvers in 1996 through the welfare reform law.
The weakness of the Republican? Well, they may sometimes make hasty decisions because of their efficiency.
Strength of Democrats? At least they may have to scrutinize their policies more closely.
Weaknesses of democrats? Simply they are very slow. The Great Depression took the Democrats to draft the New Deal economic policy 5 years. These five year costs millions of American lives already.
We must learn from history and history tells that Republicans are more fitting for the next generation

Each of the major political parties focuses on different aspects of the Constitution as most important. In the Preamble to the Constitution, there are five goals (values) of the US government: "establish Justice, to ensure domestic Tranquility, to provide for the common Defense, to promote the general Welfare, and secure the blessings of Liberty"
Conservatives think the most important are "to ensure domestic Tranquility" (meaning to promote conformity with 'traditional' ways) and to "provide for the Common Defense". Most conservatives are Republicans, who (nowadays) want group rights (conformity with 'traditional' values) and a large government to ensure domestic tranquility (by enforcing those conservative majority beliefs). Moderate republicans (originally called fiscal conservatives) want a small government, just large enough to provide for the common Defense.
Liberals think it's more important to "promote the general Welfare, and ensure the blessings of Liberty". Most liberals are Democrats, who want individual rights and a large government to promote the general welfare. Moderate democrats don't want a lot of wasteful spending, and want to achieve their goals without causing too many problems.
Interestingly, the spectrum is not linear, and has more than one dimension. There are other political parties who focus on different combinations of those values. For example, Libertarians want a small government (no wasteful spending) and very little Welfare (few if any entitlements), but strong on Defense. Libertarians also want lots of protection for individual civil rights, to secure the blessings of Liberty. They feel that Tranquility will take care of itself, and doesn’t need government enforcement of morality. As such, they are moderate about most issues, except for being adamant that the majority should not impose its beliefs on the minority, as part of their way to promote Justice.

I'm sorry, but I can 't side with either party. There are a number of issues I have conservative opinions on and there are a number of issues I have liberal opinions on. On most issues my opinion doesn't align with either side.
Both sides are extreme, either extreme left or extreme right. And neither side will concede that there just might be a "middle "ground. Many problems we face today could be solved if we would stop thinking with Parisian divisions and combine our ideas.

I'm a Republican because Republicans are more likely to be for lower taxes, gun rights, immigration reform and anti-affirmative action. Democrats seem like tree hugging, tax and spend, anti-second amendment, anti-personal freedom far-left liberals. Democrats think we need a nanny state to tell us what to do and take our money.

I am a Conservative Republican. I believe the government should do only what it is constitutionally mandated to do. Republicans tend to favor smaller government. I believe in a right to life unless you by your actions forfeit that right. I believe in the right to keep and bear arms.

Democrat, When they were in charge I had more money in my pocket: Clinton vs Bush and Carter vs Reagan. Just that when Reagan took our money as an actor he knew how to make us feel good about it.

All politicians are a bunch of lying, theiving dogs. Voting is like squeezing lemons. You want the one that gives the most juice.
