To find this out all you have to ask yourself about the Olmec Heads. They are huge stone heads that are distinctively African. There also have been mummys in Egypt with cocaine detected in their tissues. The only place cocaine could have came from is Central or South America. Read Grham Handcock's Fingerprints of the Gods. It's a real eye opener.

If by mesoamerica you mean just South America, there are theories that people like ancient Egyptians and Carthaginians sailed there in ancient times . . . but it's not proven. other than that, besides the orginal settler, I don't know.
