Agree or disagree -
The government is run buy men (and women) entirely out of touch with reality - both Dems and Reps. It does not matter which party you side with - until we elect a person who still knows what it's like to actually live from payday to payday, we'll never have a dependable government.

Tough-As - do you sleep? Did you cut and paste that? HOLY COW, man! All I meant to say is that to get elected to any office, you gotta have money. The further up you go, the more money you make (can we accept that, at least?). By the time you're in power to make real, significant decisions, you're totally out of touch with such real-life decisions as "take kids to dentist or pay car payment this month". That's all I meant!!

Agree. All of government are run by special interest and lobbyist. Remember, Congress, both Dems and Conserves, rejected a bill to raise minimum wage, but gave themselves a HUGE raise. Louis Black said, "What's the difference between a Republican and a Democrat?" "A Republican blows, and a Democrat sucks."

I disagree! that person may be blinded also. Every human is biased. Just because a person comes from the environment of the masses does not mean he is for the masses. Even so if he is very sincere, the people around him might corrupt him or he may be too innocent as not to pass any effective policy.

Start having hope about government. Ideals in the extreme is what led Plato and St. Augustine to not having achieved what they want. Its true that the US government is not perfect but imagine the governments of Africa, the banana republics, etc. There is even a fourth world now.

In truth, we are free to criticize your government but we must also understand that politics is conflict and consensus. Without conflict, there is dictatorship (Sometimes the dictator is DEPENDABLE). We must appreciate the fact that the US government is not like this

I totally agree.

There is not one candidate out there that still has an ounce of integrity. As long as big money is running politics, we can forget about it.

There is one exception-Dennis Kucinich. Follow his record, forget the fact that he is small and slim and not electable, according to the fat goons running the press. This is a person who has always stood by his guns. The only person I would vote for. Check him out in person should you get the chance.

I strongly agree with you!

If the politicians had to live in the "real world" and work for minimum wage, as so many do, they would have a better grasp on the needs of the constituents they are supposed to represent.

I dont know. Do you really think one of us would really be able to pull something like that off? I mean its a feat in itself just for someone like that to be nominated by a party, but would the people actually vote for someone like that?
