From the middle of 2003 to about 2006 April or May, energy stocks have followed the price of oil. All at once oil goes up while energy stocks go down. What's causing that to happen?

it just means that the future price of crude oil has already been priced in the company's stock price.

A stock worth only what investor are willing to pay for a stock ....And the true value of the company and profits they make . this will next one will be hard to understand investing is a zero sum business that means many will pay few will earn
